Braydon is currently working a dual masters in Rehabilitation Science and Sport Psychology. Sports and physical activity have always had a positive impact on his life, and his goals are to use knowledge to help people move and feel better during their daily activities.
Kenny graduated from Waynesburg University with a degree in Exercise Science. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and an EXOS-certified Performance Specialist (XPS). Kenny joined the Wellness Center team in 2012. His training specialties include Athletic Performance, Weight Loss, Chronic Conditions, Power Lifting, and Strength. Kenny has many favorite activities including hiking, kayaking, Frisbee golf, hunting, swimming, biking, reading books, woodworking, and watching movies.
Jackson graduated from West Virginia University with a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science. (Let’s goooo Mountaineers!) He has been a trainer since 2006 and is a Certified Exercise Physiologist (EP) through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and an EXOS-certified Performance Specialist (XPS). Jackson recently added a Pilates Reformer certification to expand his personal training abilities. Jackson feels that proper squats (his favorite exercise) are essential for everyone whether it be for sports, work or daily activities. One of his many specialties is training high school athletes. He has had clients go on to play football in Division I-AA, and Division I baseball. Jackson believes that everyone has a little athlete inside, regardless of their age or ability, because being an athlete is more mental than anything. Jackson himself has trained for semi-pro football, sprint triathlons, half marathons, and two body building competitions. He always has an end goal in mind when he is working out, and that is how he trains and motivates members here at the center. He is committed to seeing people reach their fitness goals.
Sami’s passion for fitness started her sophomore year of high school when she began weight training, to not only challenge herself physically but also mentally. This decision quickly changed the way she viewed not only her overall health, but also the health of those around Sami. This commitment to a healthier lifestyle has uncovered her passion for helping others to obtain a goal that will ultimately lead them to a healthier way of life. Sami believes that exercise is one of the best forms of medicine that is beneficial to everyone for a wide range of reasons. Sami’s training specialties include circuit training, strength and conditioning, and weight loss.
Joanna enjoys working with a variety of clients varying in age and ability. She has a background in both Physical Therapy and Strength and Conditioning and loves to utilize her skills in order to help anyone achieve their goals. Her specialties include the female population, weight loss, and mindset coaching.
Tyler obtained his Bachelor of Science in Physiology and his Minor in Exercise Science from Pennsylvania State University. He is a Certified Physical Preparation Specialist (CPPS) and has experience collaborating with Physical Therapists to help clients with pain management and prevention. Tyler specializes in helping busy professionals speed up their metabolism and get stronger. His other specialties include helping athletes prepare for the specific demands of their sport and has a passion for educating all of his clients throughout their fitness journey. When Tyler isn’t training clients he enjoys tailgating, wakeboarding, surfing, reading, football, and all things Penguins and Steelers related.
Kortlyn’s background has shaped her into a lifelong competitor, striving to challenge those around her to work towards their athletic, health and fitness goals. As a trainer, Kortlyn would never ask a client to perform an exercise that she, herself, cannot execute. Kortlyn challenges herself and her clients to grow continually in mind, body and spirit.
Dave graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science. He is a Certified Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and has been a personal trainer since 2016. Dave’s passion for fitness and being physically active started from a young age and developed as a high school athlete participating in both football and basketball. He has experience training older adults, special populations, and athletes of all ages. Dave also has experience in prehab, and has assisted in physical rehabilitation settings. His main focus is to help clients exceed their goals, and to improve their health and quality of life. He believes in helping his clients learn to leverage a growth mindset in order to reach their goals; to do things that scare you, to take on challenges that force you to discover your true abilities, and to find hope and joy in the outcome of what you set forth to accomplish
John graduated from Slippery Rock University in 2018, receiving his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. He has completed his Exos Performance Specialist certification (XPS). While believing the sky is the limit, John plans on gaining experience in the fitness industry and wants to attend graduate school to receive his Master’s Degree in Public Health (MPH), with a concentration in health and wellness. John started weight training in his freshman year of high school while playing football, and ever since then has been in love with it. John’s training style is very fast paced and effective. He will motivate and push you; He will be the coach that makes sure you exceed your goals; he will be the missing piece of the puzzle you have been looking for! John’s specialties, when it comes to personal training, includes weight loss, hypertrophy (increasing muscle mass), functional training, circuit training, and team building. With his enthusiasm, great charisma, and love for helping individuals reach their health and fitness goals, he is the trainer for YOU!
Lynn turned to Pilates in 1999 for relief from lower back pain. Not only did she permanently eliminate her pain, she felt so much stronger and more energized that she soon began training to become an instructor through PHI Pilates. She has now taught all levels of Pilates for the last 16 years, including personal training, and is studying for a certification through the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA). Lynn also has participated in several PHI produced instructional DVDs
Stephanie received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She is a Certified Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and an EXOS Fitness Specialist. Stephanie’s interest in fitness began at a young age participating in numerous sports. She has a strong passion for helping people reach their goals and working to improve all aspects of health including mind, body, and spirit. Her extensive education heavily lies in working with adult populations and individuals with chronic disease. She has experience working in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation settings along with the general population to help with weight loss and general fitness. As a personal trainer, Stephanie’s main goal is to provide her clients with the tools they need to live a better lifestyle and for them to see exercise as fun and beneficial. She has a strong belief that you can do anything you set your mind to with hard work and perseverance. Stephanie enjoys hiking and any other activity that involves the outdoors.
Bill attended and played football for Malone University in Canton, Ohio, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Adult Fitness. He continued his education at Kent State University, where he received his master’s degree in Exercise Physiology and is currently in the final stages of a second master’s degree in Nutrition and Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology. Bill also obtained certifications as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist, USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach, Functional Movement Screen practitioner, and Personal Trainer. The drive for his educational pursuits comes from his passion to help all people reach any performance or health goal they have. Bill believes that the focus of all training is movement. Some want to increase the amount of movement they can perform, the strength and speed of particular movements or use movements to increase general health and reduce pain. Working as a personal trainer, strength and conditioning coach, and in physical rehab, settings have given Bill the experience to help all people become better, regardless of where they start from.
